Box Condition Guide
Funko POP Box Condition Guide
We try our best to evaluate the condition of our Funko POPs accurately so that you know what your POP's box should look like. We are only reviewing the box, not the POP itself. We cannot see the entire Pop without removing it from the box, which we won't do unless we are verifying authenticity, it's impossible for us to assess the actual POP's accurately. Condition is subjective and everybody will not view things the same way, so if you buy a Pop from us and don't agree with our evaluation, please reach out to us and we will do our best to make things right. We want you to be happy with your purchase. We are typically conservative when we evaluate box condition.
We have provided pictures of every POP we list on the site. While we are providing our evaluation, we also highly recommend you thoroughly review the pictures prior to purchse.
Below is a general guide as to what each condition will look like and the issues we look for. If we grade a POP an "X.5," for example a 7.5/10, that means it has issues that meet standards for a 7 but it will display from the front better than our evaluation.
10 - This grade is essentially impossible to get as we will likely see some issue with every box. Therefore, a 9.5 will likely be the highest grade a POP will receive from us.
9 - A box that is nearly perfect. A 9 will only show 1 or 2 barely noticeable issues that are visible only upon close inspection.
8 - A box that is very presentable and will show very little wear. The box may exhibit 1 to 3 minor issues. Minor issues include a light crease, light window scuffing, minor corner ding, a small corner tear, or a light stain.
7 - A box with damage will be more noticeable, but the box will still display well. The box may exhibit 1 to 3 moderate issues. Moderate issues include a creased corner, moderate corner tear, box cutter scratch, a large corner ding, sun fading.
6 - A box that has more than 3 moderate and/or 1 severe issue. Severe issues include a large corner tear, heavy creasing, a large tear, a cracked window, or a portion of hte box is crushed. At this grade the flaws on the box begin to become more obvious and the displayability is compromised.
5 - A box will have 2 or more severe flaws but may still be considered displayble.
It is rare that we will list a POP with a box grade lower than 5.
